Bear Trail Lodge

Bear Trail Lodge is a premier Alaska luxury vacation destination to some of the world’s most outstanding fishing. When you think of trophy rainbow trout, think of the Naknek River which is where you’ll find Bear Trail Lodge regally overlooking it’s stunning banks. It features a main lodge with a series of guest cabins connected by a boardwalk. A short stroll along the boardwalk leads to a dramatic deck elevated 70 feet above the Naknek River. There, guests have an opportunity to relax in a hot tub and reflect on the adventures of the day. We fish for all five species of Pacific salmon, Arctic char, Dolly Varden, grayling, trophy-size rainbow trout from the Naknek and Kvichak rivers, hike through the tundra to remote streams, and raft down creeks where there’s no road access.

The lodge is owned by the legendary Nanci Morris-Lyon and Heath Lyon. Both outstanding guides in the region for a long time, now running a team of talented guides, chefs and lodge personnel. Guests stay in private cabins that sleep up to four and visit and dine at the main lodge. It’s your trip and the fishing program is tailored to your goals and preferences. Fly-outs to some famous rivers like the American, Moraine, and more. They are near the Katmai National Park and Preserve and have permits to fish these limited access waters.
