Big Dan’s Fishing Charters & Lodge offers the best saltwater fishing trips in Homer and Seward and Kenai River guided salmon trips! Guests can choose from a variety of full-day, long-range 12-hour charter options, and overnight 24-hour charters on our saltwater charters. Summer fishing trips often target three to five different species depending on the area fished. We offer half and full days for Kenai River fishing, plus guests of our lodge can fish right off our riverfront fishing platforms.
The saltwater trips with Big Dan’s Fishing Charters & Lodge target fish include halibut, salmon, rockfish, lingcod and yelloweye. And while most of the charter outfits are packing up for the season in September, Big Dan’s is just getting started on their winter king fishing that lasts from October through April.
Big Dan’s has two boats to choose from in Seward, including their large catamaran the Game Changer and the brand new F/V Double Down is our brand new 50-foot Catamaran that easily fishes 12 anglers. This new massive vessel has recently been completed at Brix Marine and we can’t wait to get it on the water in Homer. This new boat is going to be the most incredible charter boat in Homer, only ahead of our other boat the Game Changer. They will be able to offer additional opportunities for their popular double limit overnight trips! Their 6-pack boat the Blackjack is now fishing and taking clients sightseeing from Seward.
Big Dan’s is pleased to now offer Soldotna lodging to the list of adventure services they provide at Big Dan’s Riverfront Lodge. Formerly Smokin’ Joe’s Lodge, Big Dan’s Riverfront Lodge is conveniently located 2 miles from the center of Soldotna. Each cabin has a cozy living room, a 52” flat-screen television w/ cable, full kitchen, and spacious bedrooms. The cabins are freshly up to date and clean. Each dwelling has a charcoal BBQ grill, and private freezer to store all of your fish. Guests have access to private riverfront fishing and they have plenty of gear around you can borrow, something you don’t find at many lodges for the DIY angler.
