2021 Women’s Flyfishing Trips

Women fishing is a fast-growing segment of the fishing population. In recent years, organizations catering to women fishing have grown, including companies that make gear specifically for women, and outfitters catering to women.

Women’s Flyfishing is one such organization. Owner Linda Leary explains some of the flyfishing courses and guided fishing trips aimed at women that they’ve got planned for 2021 in this video. 

Flyfishing courses for women fishing will be offered via Zoom and will start in April. Cost for each course is $150. The list of courses offered for 2021 include the Beginning course, which is divided into two parts and covers everything from the history of fly fishing to gear to etiquette and more; The FUNdamentals Girls Summer camp for girls ages 10-15; Casting clinics will be offered periodically during the course of the summer. women fishingTrips for women who want to fish in Alaska include Swinging for Steelhead May 4-8, with lodging at Glacier Bear Lodge and fishing on the Situk River; Beginner Fly Fishing School June 11-13 and June 13-15 at Gate Creek Cabins in Petersville (rods, reels and fly-tying equipment provided); No Place Like Nome is a trip to the Niukluk River for trophy grayling June 29 -July 2nd; Naknek kings and reds (and rainbows and pike) July 8-11 at Bear Trail Lodge; TROUTtacular Adventure July 28 – August 1, the Henry’s Fork at Trout Hunter Lodge for rainbows, brown trout, cutthroat; Kenai Cannery Lodge Retreat August 26-29 fishing for silver salmon and rainbows; Rainbows on the Kenai September 16-19 at Cusack’s on the Kenai fishing rainbow trout during the peak of the season; and Spey the Naknek October 9-13 with Frigate Travel fishing for rainbow trout.
